Trauma-Informed Care/Healing Centered Engagement

Attend a scheduled workshop 2-hour introduction followed by a 10-hour certificate course or have me come and train your group or organization.

HEALING CENTERED ENGAGEMENT is strength-based, advances a collective view of healing, and re-centers culture as a central feature in well-being. Researchers have pointed out the ways in which patients have redefined the terms used to describe their illnesses in ways that affirmed, humanized and dignified their condition.

TRAUMA-INFORMED CARE (TIC) is an approach in the human service field that recognizes the presence of trauma symptoms and acknowledges the role trauma may play in an individual’s life-including service staff.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND? Anyone in the workplace from diverse sectors including but not limited to health, community, legal justice, mental health, education,  AOD, domestic and family violence, child protection, emergency, disability, housing, settlement, and/or employment services.

LEARNING OUTCOMES Apply the principles of trauma-informed/healing centered engagement practice to develop strategies that enhance safety, minimize re-traumatization and support recovery while building resilience.
